Our 14 year-old (teenage) website had been well groomed and made us all very proud.  However, it was time for an overhaul and that meant getting rid of  its entire collection of “nicely-designed-but-static” html pages despite the fairly recent addition of an e-store running separately on a Volusion platform.

We now have brought together under the same familiar WordPress browsing experience for both our web page contents and our e-commerce products using a woo-commerce shopping cart for our Portable Displays to Go  Collection.

I believe that these UX and UI improvements will make the experience for our customers more enjoyable while helping us organically rank higher for our targeted keywords.  We anticipate a short term decrease of traffic as we have significantly reduced the volume of old html pages with keywords despite being “301 permanent redirected” to the newly created php pages.
